Bosch GmbH- Germany

Bosch uses AR applications for training workshops specifically for complex repair work on vehicles, among other things. For example, there is special AR training for readjusting sensors of driver assistance systems after replacing the windscreen. In augmented reality applications, an actual image is enhanced with helpful and time-saving additional information. If the wearer of AR glasses looks at a vehicle or machine for which AR information is available, explanations, 3D objects or videos are superimposed on the real image.

Technical contexts thus become transparent in the truest sense of the word. Bosch has investigated the effects of augmented reality applications in a field study in the automotive sector. Even with a common vehicle and less complex repair work, augmented reality resulted in an average time saving of 15 per cent per procedure.
